THE PART THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

A discount changes what each dollar has to cover.

1

Cost the actual promise

A $149 wallet with 10% off services buys about $165.56 of regular-price services. If those services cost $40 per $100 to deliver, full redemption costs about $66.22, before payment fees or overhead.

2

Use your purchasing reality

For an included treatment, use net product cost after earned discounts and eligible incentives, plus supplies and provider pay. A fictional $397 visit could be $360 product, $30 pay and $7 supplies. Replace each part with your records.

3

Give the appointment its time

A 15-minute treatment may need a 30-minute slot once setup and turnover are included. Use the room or clinician that actually limits delivery. A financially sound plan still needs available appointments.

CLEAR ASSUMPTIONS

Know what this model can tell you.

A comparison of one stable group over 12 months. An entered enrollment fee is part of the first payment and adds no wallet credit; a nonrefundable designation records your proposed term, not a legal determination. Every member pays as scheduled. Figures are estimates in US dollars, before tax. The defaults illustrate the method; they do not predict your results.

How cash, costs and obligations are separated

Cash left = dues + modeled service payments + verified extra contribution − processing fees − costs of completed services − entered overhead. Credit outstanding is its face value. The benefit reserve estimates what unused credit and earned treatments would cost to deliver, using the same cost assumptions. It is not the amount you would necessarily owe as a cash refund.

Unredeemed benefits never expire in this model. We do not count them as extra profit. The reserve covers benefits earned in these 12 months, not all future membership obligations. This is not a revenue-recognition or legal assessment.

How visits and capacity are estimated

With a treatment mix, wallet spending is split by dollar share and divided by each service’s member price. Each category supplies its own delivery cost and visit time. The simple mode instead uses credit redeemed ÷ (1 − discount) to find equivalent regular service value. Divide that value by the average regular-price visit value to estimate visits. Included benefits follow the selected 1-, 3-, 6- or 12-month schedule. The use percentage applies to eligible benefits; credit-plus-perk plans let you set perk use separately. Named included benefits can bank as treatments or product units, on independent earning and redemption schedules. Expected totals may include fractional visit-equivalents.

The same cohort starts in month one. Included visits can therefore cluster in the same months. Peak capacity is a scheduling stress case, not a forecast for a staggered membership base. The full-use check covers benefits issued on schedule. Catch-up bookings using older unused benefits may require additional capacity. No patient treatment interval or dose is recommended.

What to add before a real launch

Replace examples with your service mix, purchasing records, staffing costs and available capacity. This model does not simulate new signups, churn, payment failures, refunds, price-driven changes in demand, clinical eligibility or taxes. Upfront dues improve timing but can create refund exposure. Model those separately before launch.

Additional contribution should be genuinely incremental. If a member would have bought the same treatment at regular price, the membership may reduce what you earn. Compare that alternative as well.
